Privacy, in plain English
We built WETI to give people an honest reading of who they are with someone else. We can't do that responsibly without holding a small amount of data about you. This page tells you exactly what we hold, why, and how to make it go away.
Nothing here is legalese. If something is unclear, write to us and we'll fix the wording.
What we collect
- Your answers to the 32 questions.
- Optional context you choose to share at onboarding: country, region, age band, gender. You can skip any of these.
- Optional deeper context (also onboarding) so the report reads you sharper: sexual orientation, relationship status, whether you have children, where you were born, how long you have lived where you live now, which languages you live in, and anything big in the last 12 months. Every field has a "Prefer not to say" option; the deeper-context block lives behind a collapsible panel you can skip entirely. None of these fields ever appear on a share card or in anything anyone else sees.
- For users under 18: we do not collect sexual orientation, relationship status, or whether you have children. Those questions are skipped automatically when you pick the "Under 18" age band. The kids question is additionally only shown to adults in a partnered relationship state — singles never see it.
- Your email address, only if you give it to us, either by paying for a deep report or by opting into our follow-up email after sharing.
- Payment metadata (transaction id, status, amount). The card itself is never seen by us. Stripe handles that.
Why we collect it
Your answers exist so we can generate your reading. Without them there is nothing to read.
If you pay, your email is used to deliver the permanent link back to your report and a short welcome note. If you opt in after sharing, your email is used to send you that same link and, occasionally, a note about a new feature or an idea we found worth passing on. That is the whole list.
We do not sell your data. We do not run ads. We do not have a secondary product line that monetizes your profile.
How long we keep it
- Paid email addresses: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Free opt-in email addresses: same. Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Pair invite tokens (the short codes the two of you share): kept for 60 days, then auto-deleted.
- Anonymous answer aggregates (used to compute "you are calmer than 72% of users"-style baselines): kept indefinitely in a form that cannot be tied back to you.
How to delete your data
Email founder@weti.uk and we delete everything tied to your address within 7 days. No form, no friction, no follow-up survey.
Third parties
A handful of services help us run WETI. Each one sees the minimum slice it needs, never more.
- Vercel — hosts the site and stores the small amount of data we keep (pair tokens, opt-in emails). EU region.
- Stripe — handles payment. Stripe sees your card and your email at checkout. We see only the transaction outcome.
- Resend — sends the email with the link back to your report. Resend sees your email address and the message content.
- Google, Anthropic, and OpenAI — power the language models that compose your reading (we route to a fallback when one is busy). We send your six-axis scores, your locale, and whatever context you chose to share at onboarding: country, region, age band, and any optional deeper context you filled in, which can include sexual orientation and relationship status. We never send your name, email, or payment details. The optional context travels only if you provided it. Skip the panel or pick "Prefer not to say" and there is nothing to send.
- Sentry — catches technical errors so we can fix them. It sees diagnostics about what broke and where. We strip email addresses before they reach it, and it never receives your answers or your optional context.
Your rights
WETI, a personal project based in the Netherlands is the data controller. Under the GDPR you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, hand it to you in a portable form, or delete it. You can also object to any processing or withdraw a consent you gave. Email us and we act within 7 days.
We only send your reading to the language models, and we only email you marketing if you actively turned it on. If you think we have mishandled your data, you can complain to your data protection authority. In the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Unsubscribe
Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. That is the fastest way out. If the link ever fails, write to us and we remove you by hand the same day.
